I think London-born Benjamin Shine is definitely a game changer – he’s a multi-media artist dabbling from sculpture to abstract art but he’s most famous for his portraits in which he populates a canvas with eyelets and connects eyelets with materials such as organza, silk or chiffon.

When the occassion calls for it, he also uses materials that best conveys the essence of his subject(s) – such as the use of recycled red plastic bags (provided by Monaco’s community) for the portrait of environmentalist royalty, Prince Albert of Monaco commissioned for the new BARCLAYS building in Monaco.
